To prolong the battery charge in the internal battery, the visolux
DIGITAL HD switches off automatically if it is not moved for more
than 5 minutes. If you want to use the reader again after this
time, switch it on again.
Reading with the device
Switch the visolux DIGITAL HD on, fold the stand foot (u) out
and place the device over the reading material. The image of the
area below the camera (s) is shown on the display (g).
If you are using the device with the minimum zoom factor 2×
you will see the complete image section of 7 cm on the display. If
the zoom is increased, this image section will decrease.
Dynamic Line Scrolling (DLS)
Thanks to the scrolling function it is not necessary to move the
entire device to one side in order to read a complete newspaper
column, even at high zoom factors. Press the right-hand scroll
button (q) repeatedly or keep it pressed down to move the
image section to the right. Press the left hand scroll button (i)
repeatedly or keep it pressed down to move the image section
to the left.
Press the left hand scroll button twice quickly to move the im-
age section to the left-hand border. This enables you to find the
beginning of the next line quickly.
Start reading.
Tip:
The device can be adapted to Latin, Asian and Arabic writing
systems. See also the chapter "Setting the reading direction" on
page 34. The Latin writing system is preset.
