QUICK GUIDE
EM-Sensor
1. EM sensor quick guide
The EM sensor allows you to detect live electric cables (50/60 Hz). Please note, however, that the EM sensor is designed
for the purpose of object classification and not for detection. Accordingly, the EM sensor data images should always
be used, as far as possible, in conjunction with the radar data. For further information, please refer to the "General
information" section at the end of this document..
Please also note that the EM sensor is positioned at the left outer edge of the scanner casing. As a result, the scanner
sometimes must be turned through 180° in order to allow trouble-free scanning at the beginning or end of the scan.
1.1 Activating the EM sensor
In the state in which the scanner is supplied, the EM sensor is deactivated. Activate the EM sensor by choosing "Set-
tings > Options" and then setting the option "EM sensor" to "On".
2. Quickscan / Quickscan recording
The "EM sensor" parameter is used to switch the EM sensor data display on or off.
EM sensor settings for Quickscan
The EM sensor data is shown at the top edge of the display and indicated additionally by a symbol at the left-hand
edge of the path scanned
-NOTE-
Moving the scanner too quickly may cause the position of the EM sensor data image to be shifted relative to the radar
data image. The shift is always in the direction of the scan.
Due to the principle employed, interference may appear at the beginning or end of scans. In critical situations, please
verify the readings as follows:
- Repeat the scan from the opposite direction
- Make an additional scan along an offset, parallel path
- Change the orientation of the scanner (turn it through 180°) before making the scan
