EM data "Y-data"
When set to "Y-data", priority is given to displaying live
cables that run horizontally.
-NOTE-
Unscanned areas are indicated in the top view by white bars superimposed over the displayed image.
The area shown as "unscanned" depends on the data selected for display. As the EM sensor is located at the left outer
edge of the scanner, the length of the unscanned area is different depending on whether radar data or EM sensor data
is used. The length of the unscanned area (area not covered by EM sensor data) thus also depends on the orientation
of the scanner while the scan is being made.

4. General information
• The EM sensor is designed for the purpose of object classification with live electric cables (50/60 Hz). Cables that
carry no electric current cannot be detected.
• For optimum presentation of the EM sensor data it is often helpful to adjust the image contrast (under "Contrast" →
"EM sensor").
• The classification of live cables located in metal conduits is subject to limitations due to strong signal attenuation.
• Whenever possible, use the EM sensor data in conjunction with the radar data. The EM sensor is designed for the
purpose of object classification and not for detection.
• The color scheme for displaying EM sensor data is fixed and does not depend on the settings made under "Color scheme".
• For good results it is important that the EM sensor is moved completely over the live cable in a transverse direction.
For accurate readings at the beginning or end of a scan it may be useful, under certain circumstances, to turn the
scanner through 180°.
• Due to the principle employed, images of objects may be corrupt or contain errors when scans are made on rough
surfaces. Problems of this kind can be avoided by laying a thin sheet of material (e.g. Perspex/Plexiglass or cardboard)
on the surface before making the scan.
