Installation

The system must be installed by a competent person or body, duly trained and certified by FALL
SAFE®, having a valid certificate to prove it.
The manufacturer and distributor decline any responsibility in the event of incorrect use,
improper application or modifications / repairs by persons not authorized by FALL SAFE®.
The FALL SAFE® "S-Line Vertix" guided type fall arrester including a rigid anchor line is
composed by a range of components that can be assembled together in order to build a rigid
anchor line for the central installation on ladders. Make sure that the ladder is suitable for the
installation of a permanent system.
Once the guided type fall arrester including a rigid anchor line has been assembled, it is
mandatory to verify the conformity of the whole system.
Install the guided type fall arrester including a rigid anchor line on the ladder using exclusively
the indicated components.
The maximum loads that can be transmitted in service from the rigid anchor line to the structure
and loading directions relevant to the type of fixation and structure.
All points of the rigid anchor line where the guided type fall arrester could run off the rigid
anchor line shall be fitted with a stop type A or B as appropriate.
The guided type fall arrester including a rigid anchor line made of stainless steel should not be
installed in highly corrosive atmospheres (e.g. above a swimming pool) because any signs of
cracking due to stress corrosion cracking would not be visible. The installation may however be
carried out in the case where control measures have been implemented or the compatibility has
been determined.
The FS680 "S-Line Grab Kit" can be removed from the rigid anchor line. The FS680 can only be
used in conjunction with FS-LDV-7198, stainless steel wire rope with Ø8mm and construction
7x19. They are tested and certified together.
