Installation of the temperature sensors

Information regarding the assembly of the temperature sensor
• The flow velocity should be similar for both temperature sensors.
!
The cables must neither be shortened nor extended.
• The distance between the sensor cables and sources of electromagnetic interference
must be at least 300 mm.
• The free temperature sensor can be installed in special ball valves or in dip sleeves
which are approved for this type of sensor. Observe the national regulations.
Directly dipping sensor assembly in special ball valve 
1
Remove the pressure from the sensor installation location.
2
Unscrew the closing screw from the special ball valve.
3
Place the enclosed O-ring on the assembly pin. Only use one O-ring.
When replacing sensors, replace the old O-ring with a new one.
4
Using the assembly pin, turn the O-Ring into the bore hole of the closing screw with a
rotating
movement.
5
Place the O-ring in its final position using the other end of the assembly pin.
6
Place the assembly pin over the temperature sensor.
7
Fix the brass screw fitting on the sensor using the assembly pin.
Insert the temperature sensor with the screw fitting into the ball valve.
8
Tighten the brass screw fitting manually (without tool).
9
!
When installing in dip sleeves, the sensors must be pushed in down to the bot-
tom of the dip sleeve and then fixed by means of the separately available screw
connection.
Sealing
• After installation and inspection, the temperature sensor and the interface between
meter and pipeline must be sealed.
Cold meter
This chapter only describes the properties and functions of the cold meter which differ
from those of the heat meter.
Operating conditions
• Protection class flow sensor
• Medium temperature
