3 Operating Instructions
1.
Check the lifting tackle for visible damages such as
signs of wear, deformation, breakages, cracks and
corrosion damages prior to each use. Check all
threads for damages. Do no use the lifting tackle
when defects are noted and discard it immediately.
2.
Bring the guide bar (2) and the holding device (4)
into the position described in the workshop
manual. Ensure that the centre of gravity is in
accordance with the workshop manual section
relevant for the load to be lifted.
3.
Ensure that the locking bolt (3) is engaged.
4.
Fasten and secure the lifting tackle to the gearbox
as described in the workshop manuals. Tighten the
screw connection (5) with 25 Nm.
WARNING
Danger through tilting, swivelling or falling of the
load!
Incorrect attachment of the lifting tackle on the
load may result in a tilting, swivelling or falling load.
This could result in serious injuries and severe
damage to materials.
Attach the gearbox exactly as described in the
workshop manuals.
5.
Suspend the lifting tackle with the suspension eye
(6) on the hook of a workshop crane (e.g. VAS
6100) approved by Volkswagen as described in the
workshop manuals.
WARNING
Risk through falling load!
Incorrect attachment of the lifting tackle may result in
a tilting or falling load. This could result in serious
injuries and severe damage to materials.
Fasten the lifting tackle to the workshop crane
exactly as described in the workshop manuals.
Observe the operating manuals of any accessories
used.
Check the secure fit of the lifting tackle 3336A prior
to lifting the load.
6.
Carry out further work as described in the
workshop manuals.
7.
Ensure that all parts of the special tool have been
removed after completing the repair work.

4 Inspection and maintenance
Check the lifting tackle for completeness, and visible
damages such as signs of wear, deformation,
breakages, cracks and corrosion damages prior to
each use. Do no use the lifting tackle when defects
are noted and discard it immediately.
Spare parts are available on request. Only use
original replacement parts.
