Putting into Operation

-WARNING-
Only use original KRESS li-ion batteries with the
voltage stated on the identification plate of your
power tool.
Use of any other battery packs may lead to the
risk of injury or fire.
Battery
-NOTE-
The battery is supplied partially charged. Com-
pletely charge the battery before using your
power tool for the first time.
Total discharge protection
The li-ion battery is protected from total discharge
by the "discharge protection electronics". Should
the battery discharge, the power tool is switched
off by a protective circuit. The power tool stops op-
erating.
-WARNING-
Do not continue to press the on/off switch after an
automatic shutdown of the electric tool.
The battery could be damaged.
Temperature-dependent overload pro-
tection
The battery is equipped with a NTC temperature
control which allows charging only within a tem-
perature range of between 5°C and 45°C. A long
battery service life is achieved in this manner.

Battery care
Never charge batteries at temperatures lower
than 5°C or higher than 45°C.
Never charge batteries in an environment with
high air humidity or a high ambient temperature.
Do not cover batteries and charger during the
charging process.
Lithium ion batteries do not have the so-called
"memory effect". Nevertheless, a battery must be
completely discharged before being charged and
the charging process must be fully completed.
If the batteries are not used for a prolonged peri-
od, partly charge the batteries and store in a cool
place.
Observe the instructions for disposal.

Observe correct mains voltage!
Before putting into operation, check that the mains
voltage and frequency on the identification plate
match the details of your mains supply.
Suitable batteries
Li-ion battery with a nominal voltage
of 14.4 V d.c.
NiCD and NiMH battery with a nomi-
nal voltage of 12 - 13.2 V d.c.
-NOTE-
Power tool 144 KAP can only be used with Li-ion
14.4 V d.c. batteries.

Damaged mains cables must not be used. They
must be replaced immediately by an expert tech-
nician.
