Important Safety Instructions
These warning instructions are mandated by UL.
When using an electrical vacuum cleaner, basic precautions should
always be followed, including the following:

WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
1. Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet
when not in use and before servicing.
2. WARNING - Electric shock could occur if used outdoors or on
wet surfaces.
3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary
when used by or near children.
4. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's
recommended attachments.
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not
working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors,
or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
6. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door
on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run
appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
7. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not
the cord.
8. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
9. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any
opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that
may reduce air flow.
10. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from
openings and moving parts.
11. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as
cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
12. Do not use without dust bag and/or filters in place.
13. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
14. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
15. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as
gasoline or use in areas where they may be present.
16. Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding
Instructions.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break-
down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric
current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and
grounding plug. This grounding plug will be fitted according to the
customer's installation upon delivery of the machine. The plug must
be inserted into an appropiate outlet that is properly installed and
grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING - Improper connection of the equipment-grounding
conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a
qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to
whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug
provided with the appliance - if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper
outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
Important warnings
1. The machine must not be used for picking up hazardous
materials - i.e. toxic dust, unless special authorised precautions
are complied with.
2. Live conductors must not be vacuum cleaned before their
current has been switch off. This is to avoid creating a short-cut
through the dust remaining in the nozzles and tubes.
3. The machine must not be used for the suction of water or other
liquids.
4. The machine must not be used for picking up combustible or
explosive materials, nor should it be used in an explosive
atmosphere.
5. Under no circumstances should the machine be used for picking
up hot material. In particular the machine must not be used for
cleaning open and closed fireplaces, ovens or similar that contain
warm or glowing ashes.
6. The machine must not be used if the electrical cord shows any
sign of damage. Regularly inspect the cord for damage. Regularly
inspect the cord for damage, particularly if it has been crushed,
shut in a door or run over.
7. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not
the cord.
8. When repairing or replacing the cord, the same type of cord as
originally supplied with the machine must be used. This cord can
be supplied by NILFISK.
9. The plug must always be removed from the socket outlet before
starting any service or repair work of the machine or the cord.
10. No changes or modifications to the mechanical or electrical
safety devices should be made.
11. The maximum airborne noise (sound pressure level) is below 78
dB(A)/20µPa for GB 933 and below 83 dB(A)/20µPa for GB 1033.
COSHH regulations
WARNING, where the machine is used for collecting of recognised
hazardous materials, COSHH regulations may apply.
Wiring instructions
This equipment must be installed by a qualified electrician.
Q Checking the direction of rotation
of the motor
Before use, connect the suction cleaner briefly to the power supply
to check that the motor runs in the right direction.
Rotation in the wrong direction will result in reduced suction power.
The correct rotation is checked on top of the motor by ensuring the
rotating direction of the fan blades is the same as the arrow marking.
To change the direction of rotation a qualified electrician must
reverse two of the phases in the mains socket.
As the motor is wired correctly when leaving the factory, it is always
the phases in the mains socket which must be changed, and not
those of the suction cleaner itself.
On/off
Plug the cable into the wall socket. Start the motor by pressing
button I and stop it by pressing button O.
W Hoses
Q Hose Ø 70 mm and inlet Ø 70 mm
Insert the hose socket in the suction inlet and press it in while
holding down the spring lock.
W Hose Ø 70 mm and inlet Ø 100 mm
Insert the hose socket into the reducer and coupling piece and press
it in the suction inlet while holding down the spring lock.
E Hose Ø 100 mm and inlet Ø 100 mm
Insert the hose socket in the suction inlet and press it in while lifting
the spring lock.
Dismantling: Reverse above procedure.
Exhaust air
The exhaust air from the motor fans can be used for blowing by
fitting the Ø 50 mm components in place of the two blue diffuser
bags.
Before blowing, make sure the hose is clean inside by placing its
open end in the container inlet and, with the motor running, shake
the hose.
E Shaking the filter
To maintain full suction efficiency, the main filter must be kept clean.
Routine cleaning is best achieved by switching the machine off,
leaving the inlet hose connected and virgorously moving the shaker
handle on the container side with a push-pull movement. With the
shaker rod half drawn from the container, a left, right, sideways
movement gives particularly effective removal of dirt from the
underside of the filter, the dirt falling into the waste container at the
bottom of the machine. The frequency of shaking the filter depends
on the application, but the use of a manomenter will give a visual
indication when this needs to be done.
Do not wash or brush the filter, but keep it clean solely by frequent
shaking or vacuuming with another cleaner.
