3.4 CABLE ENTRY

Certified cable-glands and blanking plug elements can only be fitted with a suitable service temperature range and IP rating
commensurate with IP rating of the enclosure. Only Ex e certified cable entries and blanking plugs are permitted for use.
The mounting directives applicable to the cable entries and or blanking plugs used shall be observed. Unused holes shall be closed
with a certified blanking plug.
Care has to be taken that when fitting the cable entries, sealing inserts appropriate to the cable diameter are used. In order to
ensure the required minimum protection category, the cable glands are to be tightened down. Overtightening might impair the
protection.
Note: have to Use the gasket of the cable gland in order to guarantee the degree of protection IP66.
4. SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRING
To check as part of the maintenance schedule:
-
The conductors must be carefully connected
-
The conductor insulation must reach to the terminal. The conductor itself must not be damaged (nicked) when removing the
insulation.
-
Ensure that the maximum permissible conductor temperatures are not exceed by suitable selection of cables and means
running them.
-
Clean periodically in order to avoid ≤ 5mm of dust layer.
Inspection and maintenance of this equipment shall be carried out by suitably trained personnel in accordance
with the applicable code of practice (e.g. IEC/EN 60079-17). During servicing, it is particularly important to
check those components upon which the type of protection depends.
Each ROCKER-EX[GD] light switch shall be subject to a routine dielectric streght test of 1000 V + 2U rms or
1500 V rms, whichever is the greater applied for a period of 60 s as required by clause 6.1 of IEC/EN 60079-7.
Alternatively, a test shall be carried out at 1.2 times the test voltage, but maintained for at least 100 ms.

4.1 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

Routine maintenance is required in order to guarantee the efficiency of the switch and to maintain the required level of protection.
1) Check that the mounting screws/bolts are tight and free of corrosion
2) Check the enclosure for damage
3) Check the gasket of the enclosure that is not damage
4.2 RESISTANCE TO CHEMICAL AGENT
Consideration should be given to the environment in which these enclosures are to be used to determine the suitability of these
materials to withstand any corrosive agents that may be present.
4.3 DISPOSAL
Disposal and recycling of the product shall be done according to national regulations for waste disposal and recycling.
