2. Plug the transformer into the appropriate ac outlet. The charger
LED blinks once (green) to indicate a successful power-up.
3. Insert a battery, or a radio with battery (radio turned off), into
the charger's pocket.
4. The battery is properly seated in the pocket, when the charger
LED is red. The battery is fully charged, when the LED
illuminates a steady green light.
Note: Even though new batteries might prematurely indicate a full
charge (steady green LED), charge the battery for 14 to 16
hours prior to initial use for best performance. Batteries
charge best at room temperature.

Battery is inserted incorrectly.
• Check that the radio with battery, or the battery
alone, is inserted correctly.
• Check that the transformer is plugged into an
appropriate AC outlet, and that the transformer
cable is plugged securely into the charger.
Battery is unchargeable or not making proper contact.
• Check that the battery is a Motorola authorized
battery listed in Table 1. Other batteries may not
charge.
• Unplug the charger from the AC outlet, and use a
clean dry cloth to clean the metal charging contacts
of the battery and charger. Plug the charger back
into the AC outlet, and place the battery back into
the charger pocket. If the LED indicator continues
to blink red, replace the battery.
Battery is in rapid-charge mode.
The Rapid charging phase is complete, and the
battery is charged to 90% or greater capacity.
Battery is in full charge and in maintenance mode.
