Operating and safety instructions
Carefully read the operating and safety
instructions on the front of the fire extin-
guisher.
Use the fire extinguisher only in the way
shown on the label. If you must spray the
fire extinguisher at a person whose clo-
thes have caught alight, keep a minimum
distance of 1m between the extinguisher
hose and the subject. Never spray the fire
extinguisher in the face.
Check the fire extinguisher regularly
The indicator on the pressure gauge should
be within the green zone.
Turn the fire extinguisher upside down and
shake it periodically to ensure the powder
is properly mixed.
Check that there are no visible signs of da-
mage on the fire extinguisher and that the
seal is unbroken.
Deciding where to put the fire extingu-
isher
The fire extinguisher should be placed in a
location that is clearly visible and easy to
reach from entrances and exits.
Protect the fire extinguisher against da-
mage, heat, cold, vibrations and strong
sunlight.
Fixing the fire extinguisher to the wall
Use only the wall bracket/fasteners inclu-
ded with the fire extinguisher to fix it to the
wall.
Use only screws that are suitable for the
material the wall is made of.
Recommended height for the wall bracket is
80-120 cm from the floor.
How to put out a fire?
Remove the extinguisher from the bracket.
Pull out the safety pin.
Spray the extinguishing agent at the centre
of the fire.
Always spray with the wind behind you if
you are outdoors.
Use enough powder to successfully put out
the fire, but keep some on reserve in case
the fire reignites.
If possible, have several fire extinguishers
to hand.
