The Harness range of products may be cleaned with a neutral detergent (e.g. soapy hot
water) and / or a single use wipe. The Nylon Covered Neoprene pads can be easily
removed for machine washing at 60
drying. Refer to washing label
The mounting hardware may be cleaned with common household cleaners and a soft cloth.
Should the product become contaminated, please ask your infection control officer for
advice.
Store in a dry environment.
• Ensure the central part (collar area) of the harness is not positioned above the
suprasternal notch (top of the sternum) as this may pose a choking hazard.
● Anterior harnesses are designed to provide postural support only and as such should
not be used as a restraint or as a passenger restraint for transportation. A separate
passenger restraint should always used.
● The harness should be fitted over the sternum and not be positioned around the
neck. Allow enough space between the neck and the harness to ensure it does not
pose a choking risk.
● Always use in conjunction with an appropriately fitted pelvic belt and backrest,
ensuring the pelvis is well supported to minimise the risk of the user slipping down in the
seat and choking on the harness.
● Consideration must be given to the routing of Harness straps, ensuring they avoid
any moving parts, sharp or abrasive edges.
