Safety, performance, and dependability have been given
top priority in the design of your shear pole caddy.
INTENDED USE
This shear pole caddy is approved for use with the
OGS1822 Grass Shears blade at ground level. It is intended
to be used only by adults who have read and understood
the instructions and warnings in this manual and the
OGS1822 manual, and can be considered responsible for
their actions. Its purpose enables you to work in an upright
position and in hard-to-reach areas while maintaining full
control of these normally handheld tools. It is not intended
to be used with any product not listed above.
GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING
Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure
to follow the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, fi re and/or serious injury.
CAUTION
Keep hands away from blades. Do not grasp the exposed
cutting blades when picking up or holding the product.
Check before and after use that the battery compartment
is clear from dirt and debris which could cause poor
connection of the battery pack.

Remove
the
battery
adjustments, cleaning, or removing material from the
tool.
■
When using the shear pole caddy for clipping above
ground level, it is important to understand the increased
risk of thrown clippings and falling debris. Appropriate
eye, head, foot, and hand protection must be worn.
■
Extreme care must be taken to ensure that power,
lighting, or telephone cables are not accidentally cut
while using this product. Remember that leaves, vines,
and branches may obscure your clear view.
■
Never operate the grass shears/shrubber in a position
where you cannot clearly see the cutting blades in
operation.
■
When using this product, it is important to maintain
your balance and control over the cutters. You should
therefore wear slip-resistant foot protection, be aware
of your surroundings and what you are standing on, and
do not attempt to complete the task when the ground is
wet or slippery.
■
Do not overreach while using this product, you may
easily loose your balance. Never operate with arms fully
outstretched as this will cause fatigue and may result in
loss of control of the tool.

OPERATION
WARNING
Do not use the shear pole caddy with shrubber blade or
above ground level.
CAUTION
To avoid accidental starting, also release the trigger lock
button when the trigger is released.
When operating the OGS1822 Grass Shears/Shrubber at
the ground level, make sure you walk behind the product so
that the blades are facing away from your feet.
If a signifi cant change of cutting direction is required, you
should release the trigger and allow the blades to stop
before repositioning yourself and the tool to restart cutting.
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

When transporting or storing the product, always fit the
product with the blade sheath.
■
Clean the product thoroughly before storing.
■
Store the product in a dry, well-ventilated place that is
inaccessible to children.
■
Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden
chemicals and de-icing salts.
■
When transporting the product in a vehicle, secure it
against movement or falling to prevent injury to persons
or damage to the product.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING
Use only original manufacturer's replacement parts,
accessories, and attachments. Failure to do so can
cause possible injury, contribute to poor performance,
and may void your warranty.
■
Switch off the product and remove the battery pack
before conducting any maintenance or cleaning work.
■
Check for obvious defects such as loose, dislodged or
damaged blade, loose fixing, and worn or damaged
components.
■
Check that covers and guards are undamaged and
correctly fitted. Carry out necessary maintenance or
repairs before using the product.
■
After each use, clean the shear pole caddy with a soft,
dry cloth.
