4. Transport, packaging and storage / 5. Commissioning ...
Avoid exposure to the following factors:
Direct sunlight or proximity to hot objects
■
Mechanical vibration, mechanical shock (putting it down hard)
■
Soot, vapour, dust and corrosive gases
■
Hazardous environments, flammable atmospheres
■
Store the transmitter in its original packaging in a location that fulfils the conditions listed
above.
WARNING!
Before storing the instrument (following operation), remove any residu-
al media. This is of particular importance if the medium is hazardous to
health, e.g. caustic, toxic, carcinogenic, radioactive, etc.
5. Commissioning, operation
5.1 Mechanical mounting
It is recommended that the transmitters are mounted on the gas tank with orientation of
the electrical output "at 12 o'clock".
5.1.1
Sealing the process connection
For sealing the process connections with parallel threads, use flat gaskets, lens-type
sealing rings or WIKA profile sealings at the sealing face .

Model GDT-20
per EN 837
By installing a model GDHT-20, a small quantity of humidity from the
atmosphere inevitably enters the measuring cell. The correct measuring
results with non-flowing, very dry gas compartments will only become
attained over time (depending on the particular application, this may take
several days).
The measuring location should preferably be positioned directly at the gas
compartment. Measurement at the end of measuring lines prevents optimal
results (unwanted temperature differences and no humidity balance to the
main tank).
