8. Maintenance and cleaning / 7. Faults
6. Maintenance and cleaning
6.1 Maintenance
The transmitters are maintenance-free.
EN
Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer.
6.2 Cleaning
7. Faults
In the event of any faults, first check whether the transmitter is mounted correctly,
mechanically and electrically.
Faults
Gas density value
decreases steadily
No communication via
Modbus
High humidity values
with tendency to dry
44
CAUTION!
▶
Before cleaning, correctly disconnect the transmitter from the pressure
supply, switch it off and disconnect it from the voltage supply.
▶
Clean the instrument with a moist cloth.
▶
Electrical connections must not come into contact with moisture.
▶
Wash or clean the dismounted instrument before returning it, in order to
protect persons and the environment from exposure to residual media.
▶
Residual media in the dismounted transmitter can result in a risk to
persons, the environment and equipment.
▶
Take sufficient precautionary measures.
▶
Do not use any pointed or hard objects for cleaning, as they may damage
the sensors.
For information on returning the instrument, see chapter 8.2 "Return".
Causes
Leaks at the gas
compartment
Electrical connection
not correct
Configuration error
Typical time response
after installation
WIKA operating instructions transmitter, models GDT-20 and GDHT-20
Measures
Control mechanical mounting of the transmitter
Search for leaks with leak detector e.g. GIR-10
Check wiring and supply voltage
Query via WIKA start-up kit
Measured values stabilise after some time,
see chapter 5.1 "Mechanical mounting"
