*The given range concerns opened area i.e. perfect conditions, without obstacles. If between the
transmitter and the receiver obstacles are found, then it can be expected smaller range for: wood
and plaster from 5 to 20%, the brick from 20 to 40%, armed concrete from 40 up to 80%. By metallic
obstacles applying radio systems isn't being recommended from the attention for considerable limiting
the radius. Also overhead and underground power lines have the negative influence on the range of big
power and transmitters of the GSM network put in the walking distance of devices.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The microprocessor radio power switch RWS-211C/N is designed for remote (by radio)
control of all kinds of household electrical appliances (e.g. motors, lights, gates, garden
and home lighting, pumps, optical and acoustic signalling systems). In the appliance,
there is the system of KELOOQ® rolling code used, manufactured by Microchip
Technology Inc. USA. Each transmission to the receiver is coded dynamically, and
each remote control has its own unique code, which provides the user with the highest
level of security. 433,92 MHz carrier frequency is used for the transmission between the
receiver and the transmitter. The receiver has an air-tight IP56 enclosure, and therefore
can be used in all weather conditions. The RWS-211C/N is designed for direct 230 V AC
supply and can operate continuously. Low power consumption (5 VA) makes this device
suitable for the energy-saving solutions.
The self-strip terminal connectors are used for lead connection. 16 A / 250 V AC / AC1
relay is used as the device output. Four-channel receiver includes four tracks, with the
possibility of operating mode setting (monostable / bistable) and smooth time adjustment
in the monostable mode. The RWS-211C/N set includes a four-channel receiver and the
P-258/4 remote control. In addition, the RWS-211C/N can operate with several types
of the remote controls of ZAMEL: P-258/2 (two-button remote control — key chain),
P-258/4 (four-button remote control — key chain), P-259/8 (eight-button remote control),
P-207/2 (two-button remote control).
OPERATING MODES
● Bistable: switching on and off the relay of the RWS-211C/N comes after pressing the
remote control button. At first the remote control must be programmed into the receiver
memory.
● Monostable: switching on the relay of the RWS-211C/N comes after pressing the
remote control button, and switching the relay off comes automatically after the time set
for the given channel with a potentiometer in the RWS-211C/N, within the range from 1
second to 4.5 minutes. It is possible to switch the channel earlier with the remote control.
For each channel it is possible to select the operation mode independently and set the
time of the relay automatic switching off.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTION
1. Check if the supply voltage is in accordance with the device rated voltage: 230 V /
50 Hz.
2. Disconnect the device power supply by means of separating the circuit with an
appropriate fuse or removing the fuse [in case of the excess current flat circuit-breaker
switch it to the OFF („0") position].
3. NOTE! Check if the power supply circuit has been separated correctly by means of
a voltage tester.
4. Unscrew 4 screws holding the receiver cover.
5. At the selected places on the wall drill two holes and insert the wall plugs into the
holes.
6. After removing the top cover, remove the protective screw caps, make holes for the
screws in the enclosure, tighten the screws and attach the cover to the wall, and put caps
on the screws (to protect against getting water into the enclosure from the wall side).
7. Feed the wires through the cable glands into the receiver interior and tighten the
glands.
8. Connect wires according to the electrical diagram.
9. Place the antenna.
10. Set the selected operating mode (bistable / monostable) with the receiver microswitch.
11. In the monostable mode set the time with a potentiometer (1 s ÷ 4.5 min.).
12. Replace the cover and tighten the cover mounting screws, turn 230 V AC mains and
check the device functioning.
13. Each remote control of a new device is pre-programmed by the manufacturer.
NOTE! Only authorised technician is allowed to mount the device.
It is necessary to keep to the following recommendations during the device mounting:
• The receiver should be mounted as high as possible, the antenna up,
• There shall be no metal objects close to the antenna, and electrical cables shall be
placed so that they pass the antenna zone.
• If two or more receivers are to be mounted side by side, it is necessary to keep a
distance of minimum 1 m between the devices,
• If possible, avoid the device mounting near strong radio transmitters, e.g. CB radio,
• It is recommended to use 0.5 – 2.5 mm ² wires, double insulated, for the device
installation,
• It is necessary to protect the power supply circuit with an appropriate fuse or switch
disconnector for the circuit separating in case of overcurrent, and a double-pole switch
with minimum 3 mm distance between its contacts.
PROGRAMMING
A single receiver can operate with multiple (up to 113) remote controls.
If more remote controls are programmed the first one in entering into memory order will
be erased from the memory.
1. Switch off the device power supply (the voltage control LED should be off) and check
if there is no voltage on the terminals of the RWS-211C/N.
2. Put over the Z1 jumper from the P position (operating mode) into the N position
(learning mode).
3. Turn on the power supply — the LEARNING mode LED control should be lit.
4. In order to assign the buttons to the respective channels K1, K2, K3, K4 press the
following remote control buttons:
- for the P-258/4 remote control:
button 4 — assigning the buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 to the following channels correspondingly:
K1, K2, K3, K4
- for the P-259/8 remote control:
button 1 — assigning the buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 to the following channels correspondingly:
K1, K2, K3, K4
button 7 — assigning the buttons 5, 6, 7, 8 to the following channels correspondingly:
K1, K2, K3, K4
button 8 — assigning the buttons 1, 2, 7, 8 to the following channels correspondingly:
K1, K2, K3, K4
5. When the LEARNING mode LED control goes out press the same button again.
6. The LEARNING mode LED will start to blink, then will light up.
7. After entering (max 113) all remote controls turn off the power supply, and check if
there is no voltage on the power terminals of the RWS-211C/N.
8. Put over the Z1 jumper into the P position (operating mode).
9. Turn on the power supply and check operation of the device by means of switching on
and off the receiver with the entered remote controls.
NOTE! A single blink of the LED indicates that an error has occurred and the entering
process must be repeated.
The receiver memory accepts only ZAMEL transmitters of Y series.
If you attempt to enter a third-party transmitter, the transmitter will be rejected by the
receiver.
REMOTE CONTROL ERASING FROM THE RECEIVER MEMORY
This procedure is to be performed in case of loss or theft of a remote control.
1. Turn off the power supply and check if there is no voltage on the terminals of the
RWS-211C/N.
2. Put over the Z2 jumper in the K position (erase mode).
3. Turn on the power supply.
4. The LEARNING mode LED control will light up.
5. After approximately 2 seconds the diode will go out.
6. Turn off the power supply and check if there is no voltage on the terminals of the
RWS-211C/N.
7. Put over the Z2 jumper in the P position (operating mode).
8. This way all transmitters have been erased from the memory.
