Mounting abrasive belt
Prepare the abrasive belt of dimensions as specified in the table.
Lift the tension lever (II) to allow reducing the distance between two belt tensioning rollers. Put the abrasive belt in such a way, so
that arrows pointing the direction of belt travel, visible on the grinder's housing and on the belt are aligned (II).
Insert the belt so that it leans against the orifice of the front roller. Lower the tension lever and align it with grinder's housing (III).
Make the trial run of the grinder. Make sure that the grinder's switch is OFF. Press it and release pressing.
Plug the power cord into a mains socket. Holding the grinder with two hands so that the belt has no contact with any surface or
object (VI) press and hold the switch.
If the belt starts moving along rollers this indicates the non-parallel rollers setting. In this case stop pressing the switch, wait until
the belt stops, unplug the power cord from mains and adjust the position of rollers using the knob (III). Restart the grinder following
the procedure described above.
Adjustment should be continued until the rollers are parallel and the belt stops displacing along the rollers during operation.
Installation of dust extraction system (IV)
Grinder is equipped with dust extraction which allows collecting the dust produced during the work. Put the connector of dust
extraction onto the extraction hole. You can connect the external dust extraction system, i.e. based on industrial vacuum cleaner
or install a bag supplied with the product. Bag's clasp should be pressed by fingers and put onto the connector so that the clasp
enters the caving around the connector, and then release the pressure on the clasp.
Warning! It is not recommended to connect to regular households' vacuum cleaner. Such vacuum cleaners are not fitted with
filters that can deal with industrial dusts. Use of households' vacuum cleaner to extract the dust may cause its damage.
Switching in the grinder
Make sure that the grinder's switch is OFF. Press it and release pressing.
Plug the power cord into a mains socket. Holding the grinder with two hands so that the belt has no contact with any surface or
object (VI) press and hold the switch. Start the grinder for about half a minute. Make sure within this time that the grinder does not
emit any suspicious sounds, does not produce excessive vibrations and the belt does not slide off the rollers. If no irregularities
were found, you may start the work.
Warning! Grinder's switch is fitted with a lock which may be used to lock the switch for the prolonged work. The lock button should
be pressed with the switch pressed then release the pressure on the switch and the lock button. The lock is released when the
switch is pressed again.
Belt travel speed adjustment (V)
Grinder allows for flawless adjustment of belt travel speed by means of a knob. The higher number visible on the knob, the higher
belt travel speed. Speed limits are specified in the table.
Working with grinder
Before the start of work fix the workpiece so that it cannot displace unexpectedly in the course of work. You may use for this
purpose hand screws, vices, chucks etc. Apply the grinder at full speed to the surface of surface processed. Belt should travel
at full speed.
Grinder to be handled with both hands when being moved on the surface of processed material. Grinder's movements should not
be fast. When processing wooden surfaces the grinder should be moved along the grains.
Do not exert excessive pressure on the grinder; the weight of the grinder is sufficient for the processing of workpiece. Excessive
pressure leads to premature wear of the abrasive belt and may lead to damaging of the processed surface, does not affect the
speed of the grinder.
Speed of belt's travel should match the type of the processed surface and the type of abrasive belt. Higher belt's travel speed
results in faster and more precise processing. The higher (finer) grit of abrasive belt, the lower but more precise processing. The
condition of belt should be checked in the course of work, worn or damaged belt should be replaced with new one before restart
of work.
Never use the previously used belt for the processing of other type of surface. For example the tape used previously for the
processing of metal surface should not be used for the processing of wood.
It is forbidden to use the grinder in other way than the tool operated using hands of the operator. Do not use the grinder as station-
ary tool affixed to e.g. table by means of clamps. Grinder has not been designed for such a use and using it as the stationary tool
poses a serious threat of injuries to operator.
If the grinder is used for removal of varnish coating, it should be fitted with dust extraction system and lowest pressure should be
applied during the work. Excessive pressure may lead to heat generation and consequently to dissolution of varnish coating. This
will lead to contamination and premature wear of abrasive belt as well as it may contaminate the material being processed.
Additional notes
Declared total value of vibration was measured by means of standardized test method and can be used to compare one tool with
the other. Declared total value of vibration can be used in the initial exposure assessment.
Warning! Emission of vibration when working with the tool may vary from the declared value, depending on how the tool is used.
