Combination, using tools as a system:
By combining this product with other
components, the safety features of each product
can interfere with each other. Please ensure the
compatibility of parts. This equipment should
only be combined with personal protective
equipment (PPE) which is CE-authorized to
protect against falls heights.
Things to check during and following each use
of the tool:
Please ensure that the product has no cracks or
fractures, deformations or signs of corrosion;
and that all components are tightly attached
to each other. For models with adjustable
components, ensure that all screws are well
tightened.
Use:
AUSTRIALPIN has a special tool for every use
and deployment:
K.ice.R ice tool for dry-tooling, mixed,
competitive (extremely stable with underhand
grip and against twisting),
WALL.ICE ice tool for alpine touring (can also be
used as anchor point in snow due to its slightly
curved shaft).
The ice axes G-Light, Compact and Simple are
designed for use in high alpine regions. The
LIGHT models have lightweight aluminum adze;
the STEEP models are manufactured with an
especially sharp-gradient pick.
Changing renewable parts (pick, hammer,
adze, dummy)
K.ice.R & WALL.ICE with adjustable
pick-angle
Always loosen both screws at the head with
a no. 5 socket screw key. When loosening the
screws, take care to ensure that the counter
nuts and the inner safety washer aren't lost.
Take the removable part off, and place the
adjustable part into the freed spot.
ADJUSTING THE ANGLE: The pick can be
adjusted to five different positions. Pay attention
to the imprinted scale on the pick in order to
determine what position it is currently in.
See figure 2
Place the screws through the two holes in the
head and tighten them with the socket screw key
while holding the counter nuts on the other side in
the recess so that they are caught by the screws.
Make sure that the parts are well secured.
Adjusting the grip and tuning the K.ice.R
It is recommended to be done at home so no
parts are lost. Loosen the screw on the grip
with a screw socket key. Remove the screw
completely. Now pull out the grip downwards.
The small metal insert is what sets the grip
length. Adjust it in order to fit the grip perfectly
to your hand size. Then replace the screw and
turn it through the insert into the nut (attention:
don't turn the nut too far). If you want to install
the tuning, place it on the ice tool before
assembling the synthetic grip and bring it into
position. See figure 3 A little bit of play between
synthetic grip and metal part is normal, and
does not imply a safety risk.
