Important Safeguards
•
Oils and fats may burn when overheated. Please be careful! Do not forget to
switch the device off after use! Turn the thermostat to the 'MIN' position and then
remove the plug from the wall outlet.
•
Immediately unplug the appliance if fire or smoke is emitted.
•
Never add water to the oil.
•
NEVER use water to extinguish the fire!
•
Using water can cause flaming oil to splatter and spread. A kitchen fire
extinguisher or covering the fryer with a metal lid is the best way to put out a
grease fire.
Care and cleaning
•
WARNING: Always unplug the Deep Fryer from the electrical outlet and allow
the parts to cool completely before storing the unit or disassembling it for
cleaning.
•
CAUTION: DO NOT use abrasive cleaners of any kind on any part of your Deep
Fryer. Abrasive cleaners or cleaning tools can damage plastic and metal parts.
•
NOTE: The Deep Fryer does not have any dishwasher-safe components.
•
DO NOT immerse the Deep Fryer or cord in water or any other liquid.
•
Clean the deep frying oil container, the lid and the housing with a damp
cloth and household detergent if necessary. Dry thoroughly.
•
The deep frying basket can be cleaned in the usual way in soapy water.
•
The oil does not need to be changed after each use. In general, the oil will
be tainted rather quickly when frying food containing a lot of protein (such as
poultry, meat or fish). When oil is mainly used to fry potatoes and it is filtered
after each use, it can be used 8 to 10 times. However, do not use the oil for
longer than 6 months as old or dirty fats and oils can spontaneously ignite if
overheated.
•
In order to change the oil, detach the lid and pour oil out from the oil container.
•
Please refer to the 'Responsible Disposal' section on how to discard old oil
responsibly.
