This conversion kit is designed to convert your Style 3420 or Style 3422 from the design with the inlet siamese on the upper lift-off
portion to the current design with foldaway legs Style 3421/3423 .
To disassemble the inlet elbow and siamese from your Style 3420 or 3422:
1 . Remove the two swivel plugs (save for reuse) .
2 . Turn the unit on its side and rotate the siamese back and forth so that the ball bearings fall out . It may be necessary to apply a
solvent to liquefy the petroleum based grease on the ball bearings .
3 . Loosen the set screw under the brake boss with a 1/8" Allen wrench .
4 . Remove the brake shaft by turning counterclockwise .
5 . Slide the inlet elbow out of the outlet pipe being careful not to lose the brake ball .
6 . Carefully remove the O-Ring from the inlet elbow . It will be reused on the new inlet adapter .
To install the new inlet adapter on your existing outlet pipe:
1 . Lubricate the O-Ring with O-Ring grease .
2 . Carefully place the O-Ring into the O-Ring groove on the new inlet adapter .
3 . Carefully slide the inlet adapter into your existing outlet pipe .
4 . Line up the two holes in the side of the outlet pipe with the raceways in the inlet adapter and insert the ball bearings
(approximately 47 per hole) . As the raceways begin to fill, rotate adapter back and forth to facilitate loading the required number
of ball bearings per groove .
5 . Install the two swivel plugs .
6 . Re-install the brake ball, brake shaft and set screw .
7 . Apply a petroleum based grease through the grease fitting until grease appears through the hole in the swivel plugs .
8 . Check the monitor for smooth rotation and proper locking .
To disassemble the swivels from your old siamese:
1 . Remove the swivel plugs (save for reuse) .
2 . Turn the swivels so that the ball bearings fall out .
3 . Pull the swivel off .
