5. Operation

Lifting a drum
Drive the lowered drum lifter XH with the holder open (4) up to the drum you wish to lift. Apply the brakes on the
rear wheels. Ensure that the release lever (5) is tightly screwed on (right-hand thread). Press down on the foot
pedal until the holder (4) is level with the drum rim. Then swing the holder downwards so that it grips under the
drum rim. If you now continue pressing down on the foot pedal, the drum is lifted.

Transporting the drum
Release the brakes on the rear wheels. You can now carry the drum by pushing on the steering mechanism (3).
Carry the drum as near to the ground as possible.

Putting the drum down
If you wish to put the drum down, you must slowly unscrew the release lever (5) anti-clockwise. As soon as the
drum touches the ground, it is automatically released by the holder.
The release lever must then be screwed back (right-hand thread).

Adjusting the wheel base
The width of the wheel base can be set to 1320 mm or 720 mm as required. The width of the wheel base can be
changed by removing the cotter pins next to the wheel base front journals. The cotter pins must then be
replaced in their holes.

6. Maintenance and servicing

The moving components of the product must be checked regularly for function and ease of movement and if
required relubricated with commercially-available lubricating grease.
The grippers (4) must be checked daily particularly for wear and if necessary replaced.
Check the device regularly for leaking seals. When replacing the seals a hydraulic oil change should also be
carried out. Use a hydraulic oil according to the following data:
Temperature
-20℃~+40℃
In the event of damage and particular incidents that could influence the carrying capacity and also after repairs an
extraordinary testing by a qualified person is to be carried out.
