GB
g) Reinstall the nut (6) on top of the lid (5) and screw it onto
the central burner rod (fig. 8).
C - USE
1) Additional instructions:
Do not use your lamp at a distance closer than 20 cm to a
wall or flammable object, nor closer than 40 cm to a ceiling
(distance measured from lamp cover).
Place the lamp on a horizontal surface or hang it vertically.
Avoid making any sudden movements with the lamp, to
prevent large flames appearing, caused by the combustion
of liquid butane instead of vaporised butane. If this
occurs, extinguish the lamp by closing the tap.
If there is a leak (i.e. you can smell gas), close the tap.
Do not operate the lamp if the mantle is torn (there is a
risk that the glass might break). Only replace it with a
special Campingaz
®
and blow onto the burner to get rid of any dust that has
accumulated there, then proceed as indicated in the
"Fitting the mantle" and "Burning the mantle" sections.
When in use (or immediately after it is turned off), the heat
given off by the burner makes some parts of the lamp
extremely hot (including the cover and the handle if the
lamp has been used hanging vertically).
It is dangerous to touch these parts with bare hands.
Doing so can cause serious burns.
2) Lighting the lamp with the piezo (Fig. 13)
a) Open the gas by turning the control knob (1) anti-clockwise
("+" direction of the arrow) and press the piezo ignition
button (8) one or more times until the burner lights.
b) If the burner does not light, close the tap and turn the control
knob (1) clockwise as far as it will go; check whether there
is gas in the cartridge before recommencing the operation.
3) Lighting a burner without pressure system (fig. 14)
a) Introduce a lighted match into the opening between the top
of the glass (3) and the cover (5).
b) Gradually open the gas by turning the control knob (1) anti-
clockwise.
4) Switching off
Close the tap by turning the control knob (1) clockwise as far
as it will go (direction "-" of the arrow). Firmly tighten the wheel
to ensure that the gas is completely turned off (fig. 2).
D - REMOVING THE CARTRIDGE
The cartridge may be removed even if it is not empty.
Replace the cartridge outside and away from other people.
- Wait for the lamp to cool down.
- Check that the gas supply is fully turned off by turning the
control wheel (1) clockwise to its full extent (fig. 2).
- Hold the equipment, then unscrew the cartridge by turning it
anti-clockwise and remove it (fig. 15).
mantle. Remove the damaged mantle
Never throw away a cartridge which is not completely empty,
(check there is no liquid in the cartridge by shaking it).
E - Maintenance, Storage and Troubleshooting
In case of burn back (ignition under the burner cap) switch
the product off, allow it to cool down (approximately five
minutes), then reignite the appliance. If the problem of burn
back persists, then please contact your local Campingaz®
representative.
Once your equipment has fully cooled:
a) Remove the cartridge as shown in paragraph D.
b) Store the equipment and the cartridge in a cool, dry and
well-ventilated area, out of reach of children. Never store in
a basement or cellar.
c) In the case of the injector becoming clogged (the cartridge
still contains gas but the equipment will not light), do not try
to unclog it yourself. Return the equipment to your retailer.
d) If you use this equipment indoors, the area must observe
elementary ventilation conditions enabling the supply of
air required for combustion and avoiding any build-up of a
dangerous mixture of non-burnt gas (2 m
8
/h/kw minimum).
