5- PREPARATION – USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Connecting the discharge pipe
Screw on the male/male connector (F) and then rib-
bed connector (E) (fig.2).
The ribbed discharge connector (E) is used (fig. 3):
- either for push-fit connection to 25 mm or 32 mm
pipes,
- or for screwing on a 1ʺ female tap connector and
quick connection to suitable pipe fittings
- or for use with the high flow connector
Cut off the unused end of the connector (fig.3).
- Adjusting the float:
You can adjust the float, so as to vary the levels at
which the pump switches on and off (fig.4) by adjus-
ting the length of free cable into the cable clamp H.
Note: to ensure that the float operates cor-
rectly, leave at least 50 mm of free cable
between the base of the plug on the float
and the fixing on the body of the pump.
- Installation: (fig.4)
The pump must be fully immersed to operate at its
best.
Lower the pump on a line fixed to the carry handle.
Run the mains cable along the discharge pipe, lea-
ving a little slack, and secure it approximately every
two metres, with a clip.
If you rest the pump on the bottom of a well, it could
become clogged with mud or sand which will prevent

it from operating efficiently. It is therefore recom-
mended that you leave the pump suspended on the
line.
Check that the float has sufficient space to move
freely.
- Switching on:
Ensure that nothing prevents water from being dis-
charged by the pump (eg. kink in the pipe). Connect
the pump to the electrical supply system.
The pump starts automatically once the required
water level has been reached (float in the high posi-
tion) and stops when the water level is sufficiently low
(float in low position), according to the float setting
made previously and the depth of immersion.
The pump is not intended for continuous use or for
dry running. Do not leave it unattended and/or use
protection against dry running (optional accessory
Hozelock Tecnotronic). Otherwise the pump could
overheat and could burn the person using it.
