Important information
▶ Read the safety instructions before starting any work, and only have the work steps performed by qualified personnel!
▶ Wear appropriate protective equipment, such as gloves and sealed safety goggles.
▶ Protect the vehicle from the tool coming loose from the screen.
▶ The windscreen removal cord becomes highly stressed when cutting, and there is always the possibility of the cord ripping
spontaneously. You should therefore only use the windscreen removal cord once for your own safety.

Preparing for windscreen removal
Remove all attachment parts which you could damage by re-
moving the screen, such as windscreen wiper arms, borders,
covers, interior mirrors, sensors and their connecting cables.
Insert the awl in the bottom left-hand edge of the windscreen
from the inside towards the outside. (Fig. 1)
Fit the windscreen removal cord into the awl slit and pull the
end approx. 1 m into the vehicle's interior. Feed this end of
the windscreen removal cord between the two pulleys of
the removal device from the front. Insert the removal cord
through the shaft hole and knot it. Secure the windscreen
removal cord by turning clockwise (5–6 turns) with the Allen
key.
Position the removal device as shown in figures 2 and 3. Now
route the windscreen removal cord around the outside of the
vehicle windscreen in a clockwise direction. Ensure that the
windscreen removal cord is on the adhesive bead between
the screen and the frame. If necessary, use the mounting
wedge to help you.
Cut the windscreen removal cord so that it overlaps the
insertion point by at least 20 cm and knot it on the fastening
hook (Fig. 2).
Now attach the fastening hook to a suitable place in the
engine compartment. (Not the windscreen wiper shafts!)
ATTENTION: Make sure that during the removal process
the windscreen removal cord cannot damage any
appliances, cables, hoses or coverings and secure the
windscreen so that it cannot fall out.
