Mains Lead
Completely unwind the length of mains lead that you require
from the bottom section of the base. Please ensure that the
mains lead does not become tangled up.
Electrical connection
Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is
the same as that of the machine. Details are to be found on the
label on the base.
Connected Wattage
The total power consumption of this device can be up to 2200 W.
With this connected load a separate supply line protected by a
16 A household circuit breaker is recommended.
CAUTION: OVERLOAD!
•
If you use extension leads, these should have a cable
cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
•
Do not use any multiple sockets, as this device is too
powerful.
Switching on/off
Switching on: Press the toggle switch downwards. The
indicator light in the switch lights up.
Switching off: Press the toggle switch upwards. The indica-
tor light in the switch goes off.
Use
NOTE: Always use fresh water.
1. Place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Press the button in the handle to open the kettle.
3. Then fill in the water (max 1.8 Litre). You can read the filling
level on the water level indicator of the kettle.
4. Close the lid until you hear it lock in place.
5. Place the kettle flush on the base.
6. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V~,
50 Hz safety socket.
7. Switch on the kettle by pressing the switch. The control
lamp in the switch will light up.
Switching off/Interrupting Operation
There are two ways to stop/interrupt the boiling process:
a) The appliance switches off automatically after the water
has boiled.
b) Press the switch upwards to interrupt or to finish boiling.
The control light in the switch will go out.
CAUTION:
•
Do not remove the appliance from the base without
switching it off beforehand. As long as the switch is
pressed down, the kettle is turned on.
•
Always switch the device off before you remove it from
the base! Please also ensure that it is switched off when
you put it back on the base!
WARNING: DANGER OF SCALDING!
•
When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
•
During operation the housing becomes hot. Do not touch
it and allow the device to cool down before storing it
away.
•
Remove the mains plug.
•
Emptying the water container.
Mains Cable Take-up Device
The mains cable can be wound up on the base.
Cleaning
WARNING:
•
Always turn the device off before cleaning it and remove
the mains plug. Wait until the device has cooled down.
•
Never immerse the device or the base in water or other
liquids.
CAUTION:
•
Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
•
Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
•
Rinse the water container out with clean water. Then dry it
off with a cloth.
•
Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
•
A permanent filter is located at the spout opening. To clean
the filter, press the flap on the filter downwards and pull
the filter out. Rinse it out under running water. If necessary,
clean it with a nylon brush. Reinsert the filter. To do so, use
the guides on the inside of the kettle.
Decalcification
•
The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on
the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance
is used.
•
If the machine switches off before the water boils, it prob-
ably needs to be decalcified.
•
Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available
decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use
the quantities stated in the instructions.
