CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING
Connecting the MP4 player
•
To connect the MP4 player to your computer, plug the USB cable into a free USB port on
your computer and plug the other end into the MP4 player.
•
The connection screen then appears on the MP4 player. By selecting "Charge &
Transfer" mode, you're able to transfer multimedia files between the MP4 player and
your computer while charging the MP4 player's battery.
•
You can then transfer multimedia files using your computer mouse, via drag and drop or
copy/paste between the MP4 player and your computer.
Disconnecting the MP4 player
•
Ensure that the data transfer and synchronisation has taken place properly before
disconnecting the MP4 player. Eject the MP4 player before pulling out the cable.
•
To do this, press the M (Menu) button once; the connection screen will switch to
the "Main menu" screen. Now you can safely disconnect the MP4 player from your
computer. Unplug the MP4's USB cable.
•
If you're using a Windows PC, eject the MP4 player using the "Computer/My
Computer" menu, or click on the "Safely remove hardware" icon on the Windows
status bar, and then select the name of the MP4 player to eject it.
•
If you're using a Mac, you can eject the MP4 player by sliding the MP4 player icon on
the desktop towards the Trash.
•
Now you can safely pull out the USB cable.
•
If you accidentally pull the MP4 player's cable out without ejecting it first, reconnect it
to your computer and synchronise it again. Some multimedia files may however have
been lost.
