6.2 MSN for ISDN Extensions
This section shows you how to create ISDN extensions using MSNs (Multiple Subscriber
Numbers).
In the following example, two ISDN phones are connected to a single BRI port. Each
phone has a unique MSN. These MSNs must correspond to those configured on the
X6004.

You should define the same extension number(s) in the connected ISDN
phones. Otherwise, you cannot receive any calls.
7 Create an Outbound Rule
An outbound rule allows the telephones on your network to make external calls. Outbound
rules are comprised of information about connections to the outside world and dial
conditions. Connections to the outside world can be links to the PSTN, ITSP, ISDN or
trusted peer (using SIP without authentication) connections. Dial conditions are strings of
digits that identify which calls match the outbound rule.
