Lock Core
Replacing existing lock cores.
If you are replacing existing lock cores, you may have several different
possibilities.
If supplied control key does not fit:
1. Gain access to the back side of the lock core.
2. Insert your current key approximately half way.
3. Depress exposed lock blade. Fig 1.
4. While holding lock blade, push key in completely. (This will keep lock
blade depressed).
5. Push lock core out.
If the control key does fit:
1. Insure that the lock core is in the "unlocked" position.
2. Insert control key completely.
3. Carefully pull out the lock core.
Installing new lock cores.
1. Insert control key into lock core. Fig 2.
2. Orient the key with housing in the unlocked position. Fig 3.
3. Slide lock core into housing.
4. Use finger to hold lock core in place, then remove control key.
If you have an accessory such as a crossbar end cap that is removed from
the cross bar, you will be able to install the lock core in either the locked or
unlocked position.
But, if it is installed on the crossbar, or you have a different accessory such
as a bike carrier, you can only insert the lock core in the unlocked position.
NOTE: To install or close a cover on an accessory, the lock core must be in
the unlocked position. Lock core will not turn in housing with the control key.
It can only be turned with a standard key.
Maintenance.
Lock cores should be lubricated regularly to insure smooth operation.
