2 - SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
2) VIBRATIONS LEVEL
Average weighted hand-transmitted vibration value, in frequency, the user is ex-posed to measured in compliance
with EN ISO 5349/1-2:
1.5 m fixed extension rod, Rotary line spool version
1.5 m fixed extension rod, Round blade version
1.3 ÷ 1.9 m telescopic extension rod, Rotary line spool version
1.3 ÷ 1.9 m telescopic extension rod, Round blade version
The resulting values, according to the auxiliary tools which have been used, have turned out to be high, since they
overcome the reference limit of 2.5 m/s
The following obligations have to be fulfilled:
• The operator shall undergo a periodic check up.
• The operator shall be informed about the vibrations risks.
• The tool can be used continuously no more than 6 hours per day.

2.1.2 General precautions

2.1.2.1 Clothing and accessories

WARNING!
Always use adequate clothing and safety accessories as called for the job. Use strong boots and trousers, helmet, noise-
proof ear-cover, protective glasses (according to the ANSI Z87.1 standard) and safety gloves. Wear tight, but comfortable
clothing (Drawings A and C).
2.1.2.2 General precautions
WARNING!
• Never allow other people to use this tool without prior reading and well understanding these instructions.
• Never allow children to use or play with the tool.
• Never allow bystanders or animals to stay in the danger area, i.e. about 15 m all around the tool (Fig. B).
• Never use the equipment in places where it may contact electrical cables and high voltage power lines.
• Always work in a stable and safe position.
• Do not operate, service or move the tool if you are under the influence of alcohol, medicines or drugs which could
impair your alertness or co-ordination.
• Never use the tool without the reel or disc protection.

2.2 Tool operating precautions

• Make sure that the maximum air pressure setting in the compressor is 1000 kPa (10 bar). Higher pressure values could
cause excessive wear in the tools.
• When the tool is connected to the compressed air supply, but it is not being used, make sure that the safety catch on the
handle is automatically engaged.
• The user shall be held responsible for any accidents or dangerous situations affecting other people or their property.
• Always hold the tool with both hands on the handle and make sure you are in a steady and safe work position.
• Tools and machines shall be strictly used for the purposes described in par. 'Product Description'. Other uses could cause
injuries and/or damages.
