The filter unit must be connected stress-free (e.g. with armored hoses).
The place of installation must be safe from frost and must ensure the protection of the
filter from solvent vapours, fuel oil, washing lyes, chemicals of all kinds, UV irradiation
G B
and heat sources above 40 °C.
After hard shocks and impacts (e.g. with unsuitable tools, falling on stone floor, etc.)
plastic parts must be replaced even without recognisable damage (danger of bursting).
Caution: Keep the plastic parts free from oil and grease. Avoid extreme pressure
surges (closing surges caused by solenoid valve arranged downstream etc.).

Installation

By the operator of the plant.
Fit the unit to the piping of the water network with commercially obtainable installations,
armored hoses and shut-off gate valves, stress-free (bypass line should be installed).
The activated carbon filter is supplied unfilled. The filter material (activated carbon
K110 and filter gravel) must be filled in on the spot by the operator of the plant:
For filling quantities see Technical data.
Place filter tank (1) at the place of installation.
Filter tank (1) must be empty and clean.
Place centre tube (2) with the distributor nozzle downwards into the filter tank (1).
Ensure that the protective cap is pushed over the end of the centre tube (2).
Caution! During filling no gravel must get under the distributor nozzle (danger
of breakage during screwing-on of the central control valve).
Place funnel in opening. Fill first with gravel and then with activated carbon (depending
on the size of the unit).
Remove funnel and possibly clean the thread of the filter tank (1). Remove protective
cap from the centre tube (2).
AKF 400:
Grease O-ring on the underside of the connection adapter (4) (grease of foodstuffs
quality).
Screw the connecting adapter (4) into the thread of the filter tank (1) thus providing a
seal.
General:
Grease O-rings on the central control valve (3) (grease of foodstuffs quality) and
screw in the central control valve (3) into the thread of the filter tank (1) and/or
connection adapter (4) thus providing a seal. At the same time the centre tube (2)
must dip into the O-ring sealed opening on the central control valve (3).
Turn tank (1) with central control valve (3) into the connection position.
Connect the raw water inlet (7) and the clean water outlet (8) to the water installation.
Place the rinsing water tube on the rinsing water connection (9), secure with a hose
clip and lead the hose to the sewer (free discharge) with a natural gradient. Fasten the
end of the hose and secure it against "pressure wagging".
The hose laid to the sewer must not have any cross-section constrictions.
Please note: According to DIN 1988 the rinsing water hose must be fastened
to the drain connection with at least a distance of 20 mm from the highest
possible waste-water level (free outlet).
