WARNING

Two lead wires deliver 240V electrical power to the heater from
the N1 and N2 terminals at the customer connection panel. A
Y-harness, supplied with the heater, provides a second
connection point for an optional battery heater.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The engine must be filled with synthetic
5W-30 engine oil before installing cold weather heating
accessories. Replace the engine oil if necessary before
proceeding.
NOTE: It is acceptable to operate the engine with synthetic oil
during the 25 hour break-in period if cold weather accessories
are being installed at the time of generator installation.
WARNING
Risk of burns. Allow engine to cool before
draining oil or coolant. Failure to do so could
result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
Skin irritation. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with
used motor oil. Used motor oil has been shown to cause
skin cancer in laboratory animals. Thoroughly wash
exposed areas with soap and water.

Preparing for Installation
Automatic start-up. Disconnect normal power source
and render unit inoperable before working on unit.
Failure to do so will result in death or serious injury.
Before performing any maintenance, prevent the generator
from accidental startup:

NOTE: The T1, N1 and N2 fuses could be removed from the

transfer switch by an electrical contractor instead of turning off
the normal power circuit breaker.

DANGER
Lift the lid, turn the generator OFF, and allow the unit to
cool completely.
Verify that the unit is placed in OFF mode.
Turn off the normal utility power supply to the transfer switch.
• In service rated transfer switches, turn the main breaker OFF.
• In non-service-rated switches, turn power feeder breaker OFF.
With the generator shut down, remove controller fascia
(2013–2015 units) or intake side panel (2016 and newer
units), front panel, and 7.5A DC fuse.
Move the main line circuit breaker (generator disconnect)
to the OFF (open) position.
Remove the 7.5 amp fuse from the control panel.
