5. Make sure that the lap bars are in the neutral (central)
position. Spread (unfold) the lap bars to the sides. This
will prevent the mower from moving (Fig. 13).
6. Push the the parking-brake pedal to release the brake
(Fig. 12).
7. Insert the safety key into the mower and press the
start/stop button for 3 seconds. The LCD screen will
illuminate indicating that the mower is ready for
operation (Fig. 13).
8. Pull the PTO switch up to turn on the blade motors
(Fig. 13).
9. Slowly raise yourself off the seat, but do not get off the
mower. The blade motors should stop.
NOTICE: If the deck-blade system fails to stop when the
operator is off of the seat:
a. Push the PTO switch down to stop the blade motors.
b. Push the parking-brake pedal to engage the brake.
c. Disconnect the safety key and battery packs.
d. Verify that the cable and the plug are properly
connected. Refer to step 1 in chapter "SEAT
INSTALLATION" earlier.
If the cause cannot be determined after confirming the plug
and socket connection of the seat is properly connected,
contact your EGO customer service center immediately.
WARNING: DO NOT operate the mower until the safety
interlock system has been repaired by a qualified service
technician.
TEST-DRIVING THE MOWER
1. While still seated on the mower, make sure it is on (LCD screen is illuminated) and the parking-brake pedal is
disengaged.
2. Move (fold) the lap bars from the sides close together to neutral position. This will disengage the electric park brake.
3. Press the " " button several times to set the driving speed to the slowest available.
4. Push both lap bars forward to drive the mower forward. Pull both lap bars backward to drive backwards.
5. While the mower is moving, slowly raise yourself off of the seat. The driving system should stop the mower.
NOTICE: If the driving system fails to stop when the operator is off of the seat:
a. Stop the mower by returning the lap bars in the neutral position. Spread (unfold) the lap bars.
b. Push the parking brake pedal to engage the brake.
c. Disconnect the safety key and battery packs.
d. Verify that the cable and the plug are properly connected. Refer to step 1 in chapter "SEAT INSTALLATION" earlier.
