BRACE APPLICATION
1.
Remove shoe prior to brace application.
2.
Sit on the edge of a chair and fully extend leg.
3.
Loosen straps but do not remove straps from straps rings.
4.
Pull brace onto leg with hinge center should be slightly above mid-point of the
patella.
5.
Once the brace is correctly positioned, hold the hinge with one hand to prevent
movement and with the other hand tighten mid strap (Figure 2).
6.
Tighten calf and thigh straps to fit comfortably (Figure 3 and 4).
Caution: DO NOT over tighten mid, calf, or thigh strap as excessive tension may
cause muscles to cramp.

Bend knee to an 80° angle with foot flat on floor. Hold the hinge with one hand to
prevent movement and with the other hand tighten the DFS
(Figure 5). The DFS should be worn tight or as comfortably as possible for
maximum pain relief.
BRACE REMOVAL
1.
Loosen mid, calf, and thigh strap on the brace.
2.
Pull brace off of leg.
RANGE OF MOTION (ROM)
ROM can be adjusted as required and adjustment should be done by your health care
professional. Hinge is initially set at 0°. Screw can be installed to adjust extension to -20°.
A separate screw can be installed to limit flexion to 70°. Hex key and screws are provided
with the brace.
HINGE CONTOUR
It is possible to contour the hinge to customize the fit if necessary.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
The brace should be washed by hand using a mild detergent and 30°C (86°F) cold water.
Do not use bleach or strong detergent. Do not wash in washing machine or place in dryer.
