Please note: Apply enough adhesive sealant that a little of it is
squeezed out when the strip is pressed onto the front bumper.
Fig. 7
› Check that the strip has been positioned correctly in accordance with the marked lines (see
arrow).
› Press the strip (A) onto the front bumper and the surfaces where it is adhered.
› To prevent the applied adhesive from being spread beyond where the strip is supposed
to be adhered, it is important to make sure that the strip does not move once it has been
adhered.
› Keep checking that the strip is positioned correctly when it is being adhered.
› After the strip is pressed onto the front bumper, a small amount of adhesive must be
squeezed out along the entire length.
› Use body tape to secure the strip in several places, roughly where shown in the figure.
› Two people are required to carry out this step.
Fig. 9, 11
› The procedure for adhering the left-hand (B) and right-hand (C) strips is exactly the same as
the procedure for adhering the centre strip (A); there are therefore no separate descriptions
for this.
Please note: When adhering the strips, ensure that the upper edges
of the strips are aligned.
Fig. 12
› Carefully press down on the strips once they have been adhered.
› Finish securely fixing the strips using body tape, roughly where shown in the figure.
Please note: Once the strips have been adhered, they cannot be
removed and then re-adhered. It is therefore important to ensure
that the strips are in the correct position before you begin adhering
them.
Once the strips have been adhered, the vehicle must be parked in a protected environ-
ment for 48 hours (at a temperature between 18 and -30 °C).
Please note: After 24 hours, use a plastic putty knife to remove the
residual adhesive sealant that has been pushed out around the
bonded component and use a suitable cleaning agent (such as white
spirit) to clean it.
If the fixing tape is disturbed while cleaning the component, the tape
must be removed carefully, the surface must be cleaned and then
fresh tape attached.
› If the guide marks are still visible once the strip has been adhered, they can be carefully
removed using a suitable cleaning agent.
