Operation
Preparation
Keep the packaging material for safe storage or
transport later.
f Check that the contents are complete.
f Check all the parts for possible transport damage.
Safety
Handle with care! Damage due to incorrect power
supply.
f Only operate the appliance with the voltage stated
on the nameplate.
Charging the battery
Before the appliance is used for the first time, it
should be charged for approx. 16 hours!
1. Connect the appliance plug (O) on the plug-in transformer
to the charging stand socket (F) (Fig. 3).

The appliance can also be connected directly to
the plug-in transformer for charging (Fig. 2).
2. Insert the plug-in transformer into the mains socket.
3. Switch off the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 4ⓑ).
4. Place appliance in the charging stand (Fig. 3) or connect
directly to the plug-in transformer (Fig. 2). The charging
process starts.

During charging, the charging indicator (D) is
illuminated.
·
The accuracy of the battery power indicator can
be increased by fully discharging the battery from
time to time and then recharging it in one uninter-
rupted charging process.
It should take approx. 14 hours for the appliance
·
to charge to full capacity.
Battery operation
1. Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch and switch
off after use (Fig. 4ⓐ/ⓑ).
·
With the battery fully charged, the appliance can
be operated for up to 70 minutes. This capacity
is attained after approx. 5 - 10 charging cycles.
·
In case of insufficient maintenance of the
blade set, the operating time can be reduced
considerably.
Mains operation
1. Connect the appliance plug (O) on the plug-in transformer
to the appliance socket (E) (Fig. 2).
2. Insert the plug-in transformer into the mains socket.
3. Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch and switch
off after use (Fig. 4ⓐ/ⓑ).
If the appliance does not function in mains operation
when the battery is fully discharged, switch it off and
charge the battery for a few minutes. Then switch
the appliance on again and operate from the mains
power supply.
Operation
Setting the cutting length
Without the attachment comb, the normal cutting
length of the appliance is approx. 0.7 mm.
·
Use the cutting length adjustment to switch between the 3
cutting length positions short (ⓐ), medium (ⓑ) and long
(ⓒ) (Fig. 5).
Cutting with the attachment comb
The appliance can also be operated with attachment combs.
f Set the cutting length adjustment lever to the position „short"
(Fig. 5ⓐ) in order to achieve the indicated cutting length.

Depending on the model, the following attachment
combs are included as standard:
3 mm, 6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm cutting lengths.
·
Attachment combs with 18 mm and 25 mm cutting
length as well as a variable attachment comb (4 –
18 mm) are available as optional accessories.
Attaching/removing the attachment comb
1. Slide the attachment comb on to the blade set in the direc-
tion of the arrow until it reaches the limit stop (Fig. 6ⓐ).
2. The attachment comb can be removed by pushing it in the
direction of the arrow (Fig. 6ⓑ).
Maintenance
Warning! Injuries and material damage due to
incorrect handling.
f Switch off the appliance before cleaning it or per-
forming any maintenance and disconnect it from
the mains.
Cleaning and care
Danger! Electric shock due to penetration of
liquid.
f Do not immerse the appliance in water!
f Do not allow any liquid to get inside the appliance.
f Only reconnect the appliance to the power supply
if it is completely dry.
Handle with care! Danger from aggressive
chemicals.
Aggressive chemicals could damage the appliance
and accessories.
f Never use solvents or scouring agents.
f Only use cleaning agents and blade set oil recom-
mended by the manufacturer.
Accessories and spare parts are available from your
dealer or our service centre.
f Remove the attachment comb (Fig. 6ⓑ) and use the clean-
ing brush to remove any cut hairs from the blade set.
f Always keep the charging contacts on the appliance and on
the charging stand
f clean.
f Only wipe the appliance with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
f Clean the blade set regularly using the hygienic spray.
f Oil the blade set with the blade set oil (Fig. 7).
