• Use only fasteners designated in the technical
specifications delivered together with this manual.
·
Be careful when handling fasteners, they may
have sharp edges and sharp points.
• Use only accessories made or recommended by
the tool manufacturer, or accessories that perform
equivalently to those recommended by Kyocera
Unimerco Fastening.
• Insert fasteners after connecting the compressor
to prevent unexpected fastener firing.
• Use caution while removing a jammed fastener.
The mechanism may be under compression and
the fastener may be forcefully discharged while
attempting to free a jammed condition.
• Remove the compressed air when
· Not in use;
· Performing any maintenance or repairs;
· Clearing a jam;
· Elevating, lowering or otherwise moving the
tool to a new location;
· The tool is outside of the operator's supervi-
sion or control
· Removing fasteners from the magazine.
• Compressed air can cause severe injury.
• Always shut off air supply, and disconnect the tool
from air supply when not in use.
• Never direct compressed air at yourself or anyone
else.
• Always use the correct tool air plug (D) for the
hose coupling. The pressure must be removed
from the tool when the coupling joint is discon-
nected.
• When using the tool do not exceed the maximum
operating pressure P
max.
• The tool must not be connected to a compressor
which potentially exceeds 175 psi or 12 bar.
• Children shall not play with the tool. Cleaning and
user maintenance shall not be made by children.
• Whipping hoses can cause severe injury. Always
check for damaged or loose hoses or fittings.
• Optimum air supply is achieved using an air hose
with a diameter of 3/8" or 10 mm. If the air hose is
too long, this may cause lack of pressure and air
supply.
• Never carry or drag the tool by its hose.
• Maintain the tool with care. If damaged, have it re-
paired before use. Please refer to the maintenance
instructions for detailed information on the proper
maintenance of the tool.
• Please keep the tool in clean condition, wipe off
grease and/or oil after work. Do not use any sol-
vent based cleaner to clean the tool. It is possible
that the solvent will deteriorate the rubber and/or
plastic components on the tool. Greasy handle and
tool body can cause accidental drop of the tool
and injury to nearby person.
• Have your tool serviced by a qualified repair per-
son using only parts that are supplied or recom-
mended by Kyocera Unimerco Fastening. This will
ensure that the safety of the tool is maintained.
• The tool should only be powered by compressed
air at the lowest pressure required for the work
progress to reduce noise and vibration, and mini-
mize wear.
• Use only lubricants recommended by Kyocera
Unimerco Fastening / your local TJEP dealer.
• Only use compressed air. Using oxygen or com-
bustible gases for operation the tool creates a fire
and explosion hazard.

Foreseeable hazards

• Information to conduct a risk assessment of these
hazards and implementation of appropriate con-
trols is essential.
• During operation, debris from work piece and
fastener/collation system may be discharged.
• When using the tool for long periods, the operator
may experience discomfort in arms, shoulders,
neck, or other parts of the body.
• Exposure to vibration can cause disabling damage
to the nerves and blood supply of the hands and
arms.
• If the operator experiences symptoms such as
persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, throbbing,
aching, tingling, numbness, burning sensation, or
stiffness, do not ignore these warning signs. The
operator shall consult a qualified health profes-
sional regarding overall activities.
• While using the tool, the operator shall adopt a suit-
able but ergonomic posture. Maintain secure footing
and avoid awkward or off-balanced postures.
