• I. INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on choosing this quality SCOTT product. Before use, please read the fol-
lowing instructions carefully. Please keep these instructions in safe custody. This specif-
ic product line has been developed to offer you the best comfort and an engineered fit.
• II. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
These protectors are considered to be items of Personal Protector Equipment (PPE)
of Category II and as such are subject to the requirements laid down by the European
directive 89/686/EEC. The CE marking may be allocated by SCOTT only once the pro-
tector has undergone an "EC Type Examination" or "Certification Procedure" at a noti-
fied European body.
The protectors in this information sheet undergo EC certification, Ricotest (NB 0498),
via Tione9, 37010 Pastrengo, Italy which certifies that our products meet the require-
ments of directive 89/686/EEC.
BACK PROTECTOR
These SCOTT back protectors have been designed within the requirements of the
European safety standard EN 1621-2:2014 "Motocyclist's protective clothing against
mechanical impact - Part 2: Motorcyclists' back protector -Requirements and tests
method". The back protectors have been submitted to impact tests according to EN
1621-2:2014 and have been classified as type FB (= Full Back), level 1.
X-ACTIVE BACK PROTECTOR:
In addition to the standard conditioning provided by the norm, our back protectors
for wintersports use have been subjected to - 20⁰C conditioning before impact tests in
order to prove their performance in low temperatures.

In addition to the standard conditioning provided by the norm, our back protectors

order to prove their performance in low temperatures.
• III. INTENDED USE
This protector is strictly limited for the respective use and temperatures indicated by
the pictograms on the approval label (see chapter VI. Info on product). The protector is
explicitly not to be used above or below indicated temperatures, nor for other kinds of
sports, particularly not for motor sports.
• IV. USER RESTRICTIONS
APPLICATION AREA
These protectors are designed and manufactured to provide limited protection against
the risk of impact in the event of a fall. All protector plates provide a limited protection
only in areas covered by the plates. They can arch both forward and backward to sim-
ulate and support natural movement. These backwards movements prevent the direct
transmission of forces to the edge of the protector.
