When your computer is docked in the port replicator, the following
ports on the computer, if present, are not operational:
Network port
Monitor ports (RGB or DVI-D)
Audio ports (Microphone jack or Headphone/Line out)
If you want to use the docked computer's audio ports, you can enable
them as shown in
"Configuring audio ports" on page
use the ports on the port replicator instead.
Description
Engage holes at the front of the computer to ensure a
secure connection to the port replicator.
Connection points for USB 2.0 or 1.1 devices. Four USB
ports are provided on the back of the port replicator and
two on the left side.
In the locked position, helps prevent disconnection of the
computer from the port replicator.
Attachment point for an optional security cable (not
included) used to deter theft.
A standard 3.5 mm mini jack for audio output to speakers,
a headphone or headset, or other audio out devices.
A standard 3.5 mm mini jack for stereo audio input from a
microphone.
Connection point for a network cable.
Supports:
*Ethernet (10 megabits per second,
10BASE-T)
*Fast Ethernet (100 megabits per second,
100BASE-T)
*Gigabit Ethernet (1000 megabits per second,
1000BASE-T)
Note: Gigabit Ethernet support is only available if your
computer model also supports it.
Glows green to indicate the computer is connected to a
LAN hub.
Glows orange when the computer is exchanging data with
the network.
