SAFETY AND INSTRUCTIONS

Dear customer,
Please read these instructions carefully before installing and operating your product. The installation should be
carried out by a suitable trained technician. Incorrect installation or self-executed repairs may result in injuries,
death and material damage during operation. Follow all the instructions for your own safety and keep this instruc-
tion manual. In the event of a change of ownership, pass these instructions on to the new owner. Damage resulting
from improper use or incorrect installation shall invalidate the warranty.
Important safety note:
Have all work on the electrical cables and all associated connection tasks
carried out by a trained technician.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION/USE
ON PRIVATE GATES:
– Technical changes, deviations in the figures and printing errors reserved.
– The performance of the drive can be influenced by various factors, such as specific local construction conditions. No
claims may be made on the basis of the technical data, as this may vary in individual cases.
GENERAL SAFETY PROVISIONS / SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE INSTALLER
– WARNING! In order to ensure people's safety, the instruction manual must be read carefully before installation work on the
product can begin. Incorrect installation or faulty operation of the product may result in serious personal injury.
– The packaging material (plastic, polystyrene, cardboard) must be kept out of the reach of children, as it poses a potential
hazard.
– The manual must be stored carefully and must be handed over with the product in the event of a change of ownership.
– This product was developed and manufactured solely for the use described in these documents. Any other use that is not
explicitly specified may compromise the integrity of the product and/or pose a hazard.
– The company Schellenberg accepts no liability for damage resulting from improper or incorrect use of the drive.
– The device may not be installed in potentially explosive environments – the presence of flammable gases or smoke poses a
significant safety risk.
– The mechanical components must meet the requirements of the standards EN 12604 and EN 12605.
– For countries that do not belong to the European Union, in order to ensure a corresponding level of safety, the above-men-
tioned standards must be observed in addition to the relevant national legal provisions.
– The company Schellenberg accepts no liability for improper manufacture of the closure devices to be fitted with the drive or
for deformations that may arise during operation.
– The installation must be carried out in accordance with the standards EN 12453 and EN 12445. The power setting of the
automatic system must be adapted to the gate. The drive has an integrated anti-crushing safety device that consists of a
torque control system. The torque control system must be adapted to the gate.
– The drive reverses upon encountering an obstacle.
– The power setting is pre-programmed to level 4 in the factory.
– The safety devices (standard EN 12978) provide protection in potential hazard areas against mechanical movement haz-
ards, such as cuts, crushing and being dragged along with the machinery. During programming of the power setting, the
safety shut-off is not active.
– Before carrying out any work on the system, the electrical power supply must be shut off.
– The use of at least one light signal and a light barrier is recommended for every system.
– The company Schellenberg accepts no liability with regard to safety and smooth operation of the drive if components that
were not supplied by the company Schellenberg are used in the system.
