· Never use the appliance if the mains cable or plug-in transformer is damaged. Furthermore, do
not use the appliance if it is not working correctly, if it is damaged or if it has fallen into water. In
these cases, send the appliance to our Service Centre for inspection and repair. Only specialists
properly trained in the handling of electrotechnical appliances may repair electrical equipment.
· To prevent injuries, never use the appliance if the blade set is damaged.
· Always disconnect from the mains after use (except during the charging process).
· Disconnect from the mains before cleaning the appliance.
· Do not hold the appliance by the mains cable to carry it, and do not use the cable as a handle.
· Do not wind the mains cable around the appliance.
· Keep the mains cable and appliance away from hot surfaces.
· Make sure that the mains cable is not twisted or kinked when charging or storing.
· Do not expose the appliance to temperatures below 0°C and above +40°C for any length of
time. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
· Do not use disposable batteries. Rechargeable batteries should only be replaced at authorized
Service Centres.
· Lithium ion batteries may explode, catch fire and/or cause burns if they are dismantled, dam-
aged or exposed to moisture and/or high temperatures.
· Do not try to remove the batteries for disposal. Lithium ion batteries are subject to the local
disposal regulations. Any disposal with domestic waste is prohibited. Please inform yourself in
advance about the local provisions applicable in this case.
· Before the appliance is used for the first time, it should be charged for
approx. 60 minutes.
· The appliance is safety insulated and radio screened. It meets the requirements of EU Directive
2004/108/EC regarding electromagnetic compatibility and EC Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/
EC.
Mains operation
· Connect the appliance plug on the plug-in transformer to the appliance socket (Fig. 1ⓐ).
· Connect the plug-in transformer into the socket (Fig. 1ⓑ).
· Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 2 ⓐ) and, after use, switch it off
again (Fig. 2ⓑ).
· Note: If the appliance does not function in mains operation when the battery is fully discharged,
turn it off and charge it until the lowest segment of the LCD capacity display begins to blink.
Then continue charging for approximately 5 minutes. Switch the appliance on again and operate
from the mains power-supply.
Charging the battery
· Connect the appliance plug on the plug-in transformer to the charging stand socket
(Fig. 3ⓐ). The appliance can also be connected directly to the plug-in transformer for
charging (Fig. 1ⓐ/ⓑ).
· Connect the plug-in transformer into the socket (Fig. 3ⓑ).
· Switch off the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 2ⓑ).
· Place appliance in the charging stand or connect directly to the plug-in transformer. A signal will
sound and the charging process begins.
· According to the charge status, the corresponding segment of the battery power indicator blinks
during the charging process. Once the battery is fully charged, all segments of the battery power
indicator will remain lit continuously. After the device has been removed from the charging
stand, the display goes out after approx. 30 seconds (power saving mode).
