REMARK: To prepare the gasoline-oil mixture, first mix the
whole amount of oil with half of the amount of the required
gasoline; thereafter add the remaining gasoline.
Agitate the mixture carefully before filling it into the tank.
In order to secure a safe operation, do not add more
than the specified amount of oil to the motor. Adding
more oil results in a higher emission of combustion
residues which will pollute the environment and
obstruct the exhaust channels of the cylinder and also
those of the muffler. Further, it will increase fuel
consumption and reduce performance.
Fuel storage
Fuels have a limited storage life. Fuel and fuel mixtures
age. Thus, fuel and fuel mixtures which have been stored
for too much time may cause starting problems. Further,
only acquire the amount of fuel you will consume in a few
months.
Store the fuel safely at a dry place and only in
homologated recipients.
AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN AND EYES
Mineral oil products degrease your skin. If your skin
repeatedly enters into contact with these substances during
a prolonged period of time, it will desiccate. This may cause
a number of skin diseases. Further, it is known that also
allergic reaction may take place. The eyes may become
irritated by contact with oil. If any oil gets into your eyes,
immediately wash them with clean water.
If your eyes remain irritated, seek medical advice
immediately.
5.4 Saw chain oil (Fig. 37 - 38)
Use oil with an adhesive additive to lubricate the chain and
the guide bar. The adhesive additive prevents the oil falling
from the chain too quickly.
We recommend using saw chain oil that is biodegradable to
protect the environment. The use of biodegradable oil may
even be required by local regulations.
Biodegradable oil is stable only for a limited period of time. It
must be used within a period of 2 years of the date of
manufacturing (printed on the recipient).
Important remark on biodegradable saw chain oils:
If you are thinking of not using again the chain saw again for
a prolonged period of time, drain the oil tank and fill in a
small amount of engine oil (SAE 30), and afterwards let the
chain saw run for a while.
This is necessary to expel all remaining biodegradable oil
from the oil tank, oil-feeding system, saw chain and guide
bar, as many oils tend, as time goes by, to leave sticky
residues that may damage the oil pump or other parts.
The following time you use your chain saw, fill the oil tank
again. In the case of damages caused due to the use of
used oil or inappropriate saw chain oil, the product
guarantee will be invalidated and left without effect.
Your vendor will inform you on the use of saw chain oil.
NEVER USE USED OIL (Fig. 38)
Used oil is very dangerous for the environment.
Used oil contains high quantities of carcinogenic
substances. Residues of used oil will result in a serious
deterioration of the oil pump and of the sawing device.
In case of damages caused due to the use of used oil or
inappropriate saw chain oil, the product guarantee will be

Checking the lubrication of the saw chain (Fig. 42)
Never work with the chain saw without sufficient saw chain
lubrication. Otherwise, the service life of the saw chain and
the guide bar will decrease.
Before starting to work, check the oil level in the tank and
the feeding system.
Check the oil-feeding speed as described below. Start the
chain saw (refer to "Starting the engine").
Hold the running chain saw about 15 cm above a log on the
ground (use an appropriate base).
If lubrication is sufficient, you will see a slight trace of oil
because oil will be launched from the sawing device. Pay
attention to the direction where the wind is blowing and
avoid unnecessary exposition to oil aspersion.
Remark: After the machine has stopped, it is normal that
residual saw chain oil drips through the oil-feeding system, the
guide bar and the saw chain for a while. This is no failure!
Place the chain saw on a suitable surface.
5.5 Refueling (Fig. 39)
FOLLOW THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS!
Be careful and cautious when handling fuels.
The engine must be switched off.
Thoroughly clean the area around the lids to prevent debris
from penetrating into the fuel or oil tanks.
Unthread the lid and fill the tank with fuel (mixture
gasoline/oil) or saw chain oil as may be the case. Fill up to
the lower edge of the tank inlet. Be careful not to spill fuel or
saw chain oil!
Thread the fuel lid as far as it will go.
Clean the threads of the lid and of the tank after
refueling.
Lubrication of the saw chain
During operation, there must be sufficient saw chain oil on
the saw chain oil tank to achieve a good lubrication of the
saw chain. One fill will be sufficient for approximately one
hour and a half of continuous operation. When working,
check that there is still sufficient oil in the tank and refill it if
necessary. Check only when the engine is switched off!

Adjusting the lubrication of the saw chain (Fig. 40)
The engine must be switched off.
You can adjust the feeding speed of the oil pump by means
of the adjusting screw (I) located below at the machine
base. The quantity of oil can be adjusted using a flat screw
driver.
To ensure operation without troubles of the oil pump, the oil
guiding slot of the sump and the admission port of the guide
bar (6) must be cleaned regularly (Fig. 41).
