6.4 Replacing the saw chain (Fig. 55)
Only use saw chains and guide bars designed for this
chain saw!
Check the pinion before mounting a new chain.
Worn pinions may damage the new saw chain and must
thus be replaced.
6.5 Replacing the suction head (Fig. 56)
The felt filter (N) of the suction head may get obstructed. It is
recommended to replace the suction head once quarterly to
ensure trouble-free fuel circulation to the carburetor.
To remove and replace the suction head, extract it through
the tank inlet using a piece of wire having a hook-shaped
bent end.
6.6 Cleaning the air filter (Fig. 57)
(OLMO G1-250, OLMO G2-400, OLMO G3-450)
Unscrew the screw (23) and extract the cover of the filter
box (20).
IMPORTANT: Cover the admission port with a clean cloth
to avoid particles of debris falling into the carburetor. Extract
the air filter (24).
To avoid injuring your eyes, do NOT blow the particles
of debris! Do not use fuel to clean the air filter.
Clean the air filter with a soft brush.
If the filter is very dirty, clean it with lukewarm water with
dish detergent.
Let the air filter dry completely.
If the filter is very dirty, clean it frequently (several times a
day) because the whole of the engine power can be
extracted only with a clean air filter.
Replace damaged air filters immediately.
The cloth pieces or particles of debris may damage the
engine.
6.7 Replacing the spark plug (Figs. 58 and 59)
(OLMO G1-250, OLMO G2-400, OLMO G3-450)
Do not touch the spark plug or the spark plug cap when
the engine is running (high voltage).
Switch off the engine before beginning any
maintenance work. A hot engine may cause you burns.
Put on protective gloves!
The spark plug (12) must be replaced in case that that the
isolator us damaged, the electrode is eroded (is burned) o if
the electrodes are very dirty or oily.
Remove the cover of the filter box (20) (refer to "Cleaning
the air filter" (24)).
Separation of the electrode (Fig. 59)
The separation of the electrode must be 0.6-0.7 mm.
6.8 Instructions for periodic maintenance
