Make a call
The design of the Nokia E62 makes it easy to dial, navigate, and multitask. Its advanced voice
features provide you with everything you need to keep in touch.
Make a call
From the idle state, enter the phone number using the number pad on the keypad (fig. 4.1).
You do not have to press the function key (

Tip! To dial a number that contains letters (such as 1-800-4NOKIA), hold
down the Chr key (
) while pressing the letter keys. Press the call key

) to make the call.
Speak handsfree
To activate the speakerphone, press the right selection key (
while in a call. Or use Bluetooth wireless connectivity to connect to a
compatible Bluetooth-enabled wireless headset.
Host a conference call
Host a conference call with up to 5 additional participants.* To dial in a
new participant, select
Options
hold, and you can call the next participant. When the new participant
answers, select

Use email
You have options for accessing email on your Nokia E62, including the built-in Nokia email client
and third-party email clients. Email service and third-party clients are offered by your wireless
carrier, Internet service provider (ISP), or your company. Check with your carrier or company's IT
manager about third-party solutions that best fit your needs.
Once your email is set up, you can read and send email while on the go. The dedicated email
key (
) makes it easy to access your messages, and the built-in document viewer lets you
download and view email attachments right on your Nokia E62.*
To set up your email accounts, you can use the Settings Wizard application in your device.
Settings Wizard includes the settings of a number of popular ISP email accounts and is activated
the first time you press the email key (

Get connected
Your Nokia E62 offers a variety of ways for you to get connected—including Bluetooth wireless
technology, USB, and Infrared connections. You can exchange data (such as contacts) between a
previous device and your new device using the Transfer application on your Nokia E62. Consult
your User Guide for specifics.
Bluetooth wireless connectivity
Bluetooth wireless technology allows your Nokia E62 to communicate with other
compatible devices. Pair it with other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as headsets
or car kits for handsfree communication, or pair it with your laptop, printer, or PDA
to transfer data or synchronize information. To access Bluetooth set-up, select
Menu
> Connect. > Bluetooth. Once the Bluetooth settings are configured, you can
easily turn Bluetooth connectivity on/off by simultaneously pressing the function
key (
) and the Ctrl key (
USB connectivity
Use the USB port and the connectivity cable to connect your Nokia E62 to
your compatible PC or laptop. Synchronize contact and calendar information
with your PC using the Nokia PC Suite application included on the in-box CD-ROM,
or transfer presentations, documents, music, and other data files to the optional miniSD card.
Infrared
Infrared allows you to "beam" data files, contact cards, etc. between your Nokia E62 and a
compatible device such as your laptop, PDA, or compatible phone.
Tip! Infrared is easily turned on/off by simultaneously pressing the function key (
Chr key (
).

In-box CD-ROM
Use the in-box CD-ROM to learn more and install Nokia PC Suite, a free software program that allows
you to exchange data between your device and a compatible computer. To review the CD-ROM,
insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive of your compatible PC. If the CD does not automatically launch,
