OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Timing Gear Clamp Tool / Vehicle Setup
1. Place Vehicle in Park and Ensure Operating Temperature is Below 80 Degrees.
2. Set Engine to Manufacturer's Top Dead Center Location by Rotating Engine by Hand with the Proper Tools. (Refer to
Manufacture's Specifications for T.D.C.)
3. Remove Valve Cover and Related Components to Gain Access to the Timing Gears. Set Aside Valve Cover and Other
Removed Components in a Clean Work Area Ensuring Not to Allow Dirt or Debris to Come in Contact with Parts to
be Reinstalled.
Tool Operation and Clamping Procedure
4. With Engine at Top Dead Center and All Timing
Components Lined Up, Place Powerbuilt Timing Gear
Clamp Between Cam Gears. Always Refer to Manufacturer's
Specifications, Service Manual and or Service Center to
Verify Engine Timing is at True Top Dead Center. ( T.D.C. )
5. Spread the Slides of the Timing Gear Clamp to the Most
Open Position Between the Gears.
6. Tighten the Lock Bolts on Both Sides of the Clamp.
