J-Bar Cover Replacement

Insert a flat head screw driver under the outer back shell and pry it off. Start at the top
corner and pry around the edge until the part is free.(Pry at

Remove the bolt that attaches the cover to the j-bar with a T-40 Torx driver.

Lower the end of the cover and slide it away from the mechanism to remove it from
the chair.

Take the new cover and insert the hooks into the holes in the mechanism. Align the
mounting holes on the j-bar and tighten the new bolt to 90 in-lbs (10 Nm).

Next, install the outer back shell by aligning the top 3 ribs on the outer back shell with the
slots inside the inner back shell. Once aligned, gently press on the outer back shell until it is
captured by the spring clips, but do not push them all the way in.
6.
Continue to work down the back shell, aligning the ribs and pressing them into the clips.
Once all of the ribs have been inserted, press the back shell on completely so there are no
gaps between the inner and outer shells.
