Assembly and usage instructions
ENG
for a telescopic ladder
Introduction
General information
These assembly and usage instructions govern and describe the assembly and
proper use of the ladders. For safety reasons, please read these instructions care-
fully before use and save them for future reference. If the ladder is passed to a new
owner, the instructions must be passed on with it. Not all possible applications can
be addressed in this document. If you have any questions about specific applications,
please contact your FÖRCH representative. Ladders can be used to perform a
narrow scope of work at a height, during which the use of other equipment is not
proportionate (cf. German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV)).
Only original FÖRCH parts may be used during assembly. These must be visually
checked for fault-free condition before assembly. Do not use damaged components.
When climbing on and off the ladder and during its general use, there is a risk of
falling off. All work with and on the ladder must be performed so that the risk of
falling off is as low as possible. Modifications to the ladder that are not authorised
by the manufacturer will invalidate the warranty. The products or variants described
in this document may be subject to country-specific regulations.
The user of the products is responsible for observing these regulations.
General information about assembly and use
Before using the ladder
Are you in appropriate physical condition to use the ladder? Certain health
conditions, medications and alcohol or drug abuse can lead to safety risks when
using the ladder.
When transporting the ladder on roof bars or in a truck, make sure that it is
appropriately secured to prevent damage.
Check the ladder after deliver and before first use, to ensure the proper condition
and function of all the parts.
Visually check the ladder for damage and safety of use at the beginning of every
work day on which the ladder will be used.
For commercial users, regular inspections are required.
Make sure that the ladder is suitable for the respective application.
Do not use the ladder if damaged.
Remove any soiling from the ladder, e.g. wet paint, dirt, oil or snow.
Before using the ladder, a risk assessment must be performed, taking into account
the local legal regulations in the country of use.
Note (Fig. 11) if a ladder is supplied with a crossbar, this must first be attached
by the user before first use.
