13. Mount the hinges to the door using the front and back of hinge, hinge
gaskets, and two 1/4" - 20 x 5/8" flathead hex socket screws, as
shown in Fig. #13. Be sure that the hinges are square with the
edge of the glass. Trim any excess hinge gasket with a razor knife.
Install the door handle by threading the two parts together through
the door. Door handle gaskets must be installed between the handle
halves and the glass.
14. Install the door by lifting it in place and engaging the lower pivot pin
into the hole in the lower hinge, as shown in Fig. #14. Hold the door
in place and slide the hinge pivot down until the upper pivot pin
bottoms out on the remaining bearing washer. Secure the hinge
pivot with two 8-32 x 3/8" screws. Some adjustment of the door
within the hinges may be required for door to fit properly.
15. Install the door seal by sliding it onto the side of the glass door, as
shown in Fig. #15. Install the wiper seal by sliding it onto the bottom
of the door. Trim the overhang of the wiper seal so it clears the
deflector. Caulk the wiper seal at the joint between the door seal and
wiper seal, and where it bends around the hinge.
NOTE: The wiper seal must be cut to fit the door width.
16. Installing optional towel bar: Refer to Fig. #16. Install the towel
bars by measuring the distance between the wall jamb and the
pivot jamb. Cut towel bar to a length 5/32" (4mm) shorter than the
measured distance. Use the enclosed touch-up paint to cover the
cut edge of the towel bar.
17. Install towel bar end caps into the ends of the towel bar as shown
in Fig. #16. It may be necessary to trim the edges of the towel bar
brackets with a razor knife to ensure proper fit. Hold the towel bar
in place 30-1/2" (77.5cm) from the receptor curb. Mark the screw
hole locations with a center punch and drill the jambs with a 1/8" drill.
CAUTION: Drill only through the outer shell of the extrusion.
DO NOT drill any deeper or you may damage the
glass panel.
NOTE: It will be necessary to apply a bead of clear silicone
sealant where the glass panel meets the receptor,
around the receptor hardware, and at the glass to
jamb joints.
