Indications for Use
The AeroEclipse ® R BAN is a single patient, reusable device, intended to be used by
patients who are under the care or treatment of a licensed healthcare provider or
physician. The device is intended to be used by these patients to administer aerosolized
medication prescribed by a physician or healthcare professional. The intended
environments for use include the home, hospitals and clinics. The device may be used
with a compressor capable of delivering a flow of 2.75 to 8 liters per minute (lpm) under
an operating pressure of 15 to 50 pounds per square inch (psi).
Before You Begin:
1. Gather all the parts of your nebulizer and be sure they are working properly. If you
have damaged or missing parts contact your dealer where you originally purchased
your AeroEclipse ® R BAN.
2. Read through the instructions for use, cautions and warnings to be sure you
understand them completely before starting a nebulizer treatment. If you have any
questions contact your physician or healthcare provider before proceeding.
3. Your nebulizer should last up to 6 months with general use and maintenance as
outlined in this owner's manual. Be sure to replace your nebulizer as indicated to make
sure it functions correctly.
4. It is recommended that you have an extra nebulizer on hand in the event your nebulizer
becomes damaged, lost or otherwise unusable.
Set-Up:
1. Prior to use, inhale and exhale through the mouthpiece to verify the movement of the
green feedback button. The button should freely move up and down. If not, move the
mode switch 90°. If the green feedback button still does not move freely contact your
dealer for a new unit.
2. The AeroEclipse ® R BAN can be used with a mask instead of a mouthpiece by
inserting the mask into the mouthpiece opening. Masks manufactured for Monaghan
Medical Corporation, the ComfortSeal ® reusable masks (Fig. 5–1) and the
AeroEclipse ® disposable mask (Fig. 5–2), contain a built-in adapter that can be
inserted directly into the mouthpiece opening. Other standard aerosol masks can be
used but require an elbow adapter (Fig. 5–3). See the illustrations to find which set-up
works best for your situation.
