features an unusual face that clearly sets it apart
from conventional timepieces. Its regulator dial
has three separate display zones for hours, min-
utes, and seconds. The configuration combines a
subsidiary hours dial at 12 o'clock, a sweep minute
hand, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock; this
face was inspired by the large and highly accurate
freestanding regulator clocks once used by watch-
makers, scientific institutions, and major seaports
to keep a precise track of the time. To prevent the
hour hand from partially covering the seconds dial
twice a day for several hours, it was simply moved
aside to the periphery of the dial. The oscillator of
your Annual Calendar Regulator is nothing short of
avant-garde, featuring a Spiromax balance spring
®
and a Pulsomax ® escapement (the spring, lever, and
escape wheel are made of Silinvar , a silicon-based
®
material) as innovative and patented components.
Additionally, your watch is endowed with an Annual
Calendar that only needs to be corrected once a year.
