CAUTION: Any files, programs, and data installed or created after your
last User Backup will be deleted after you press Enter.
6. Press Enter to continue. The User Restore process may take
approximately 30 minutes.
7. The CD tray opens automatically, and you are prompted to remove
the Compaq Recovery CD. Remove the CD from the CD-ROM,
CD-RW, or DVD-ROM drive.
8. Press Enter to restart your computer.
Ordering a free copy of Compaq "QuickRestore"
Software Tools on CD
As described in the previous pages, the majority of Compaq Quick Restore tools may
be accessed using the Recovery CD.
Only if you delete these pre-installed tools from your hard drive, or in the unlikely
event that your hard drive fails, would you need the Quick Restore tools on CD.
1. Before calling your local Presario call centre, identify your model and serial
number on the side, back or base of your Compaq PC and have it ready. This
is important as the QuickRestore software tools are specific to your model
of Presario.
2. Call your local Technical Support Centre (see telephone numbers listed below) and
request a QuickRestore CD. Note: national rates apply except as indicated.
